Just had a fun DVD commentary session for Book 1 with Janet Varney (Korra), David Faustino (Mako), and Mike (Mike).

I was out at Nick Animation Studios yesterday for some non-Korra related activity and I stopped in on my favorite homeboy Bill Rinaldi. He says to say hi to the Tumblr crew::)

NAGA
I’ve been chipping away at this one, bit by bit, for a few weeks. Living with the official Naga model, my dog, was certainly a big help. He often strikes a majestic, epic pose on the porch, staring into his vast domain. This is a tribute to him, the quiet observer.

Here is a lovely piece of fanart (is that one word these days?) by Stevie Lewis, a visual development (“vis dev” to the cool kids) artist over at Dreamworks. Check out more of her great, charming work on her blog: chocosweete.blogspot.com
Click on the image above if you want to leave her a nice comment (because Fred and I couldn’t figure out how to link directly to the original post of hers on Blogspot, even though Fred is 8 years younger than me)!

The Dream Team!
At first Mike and I were included in this photo shoot, and then the photographer diplomatically asked, “Can we try a couple without the producers?” Unlike that No Doubt video where the photographers only want to shoot Gwen and the dudes sulk over to the shadows, Mike and I said, “ABSOLUTELY!” and we ran away, relieved.
(We did a fun, live interview for ew.com too, but I don’t see it archived on the site now. I’ll post it later if I get a link.)

I’m actually really nervous about posting these pages since the first page stood alone so well and was really well-received, but I finished, so here they are. My favourite pages ended up being the first and fifth, entirely because the colours were fun (and looking at my own stilted dialogue kind of kills me inside).

I like to think that if they had enough time, these bros could have made amends. Slowly, maybe, but an apology that’s more genuine than ‘I’m sorry for what I had to do to you’ is a start.

I just have so many feelings about Tarrlok and my questionable ability to write about them augh

YOU SHOULDN’T BE NERVOUS, THIS IS BREATHTAKINGLY GORGEOUS

REBLOGING THIS GEM.

Right in the feels <3
